Thelma
Fay Laser, age 97, of Prattville, Michigan passed away Sunday, April 18, 2004,
at Judy's Kountry Care in Camden, Michigan. She was born May 2, 1906, in
Prattville, Michigan to William and Mary Belle (Kaiser) Wolf. She married
Lester L. Laser on August 8, 1929, in Toledo, Ohio and they celebrated their
70th wedding anniversary in 1999. Lester preceded her in death on June 3, 2000.
Thelma was a graduate of Prattville High School in 1924, and also graduated
from Kalamazoo Normal College with a degree in Education. She taught school at
the Bean Patch and Prattville Schools and was a very active member of the
Prattville Seventh Day Adventist Church. Thelma also worked in her husband's
store, but her main passion was her home and family.
Thelma was a very caring and loving person. She was happiest when taking care
of her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to cook and was famous
for her swiss steak, cinnamon rolls, baked beans and sugar cookies.
Everyone wanted to be at her house for Sabbath dinner.
Thelma is survived by three daughters, Joan (Ted) Durst of Adrian, Janice
Ingraham of Pittsford and Barbara (Jerry) Freeburn of Pittsford; one son, Gary
(Dee) Laser of Battle Creek, Michigan; one brother, Rex (Jo) Wolf; 19
grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Thelma
was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Arda Keller and
Leona Hoffman, four brothers, Lester, Harold, Paul and Clifford Wolf.
Funeral services for Thelma will be Thursday, April 22, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at
the Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson with Pastor Monti Landis and Pastor Donald
Siewert officiating. Interment will follow in Prattville Cemetery. Visitation
will be Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers those planning
an expression of sympathy may make memorial contributions to Prattville Seventh
Day Adventist Church Building Fund or Waldron Public Library.
