Delbert M. Pickford, age 73 years of Pittsford, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at the McQuire Skilled Nursing Unit in Hillsdale. He was born in Rome Township, Lenawee County, Michigan, the son of Homer and Orpha (Poling) Pickford. He married Frances A. Johnson on January 2, 1952 in Adrian. She survives. Delbert worked for Addison Products for over 26 years. He enjoyed being outdoors fishing, hunting and especially farming. Delbert was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during the Korean War. He attended the United Brethren Church in Munson. Surviving besides his wife of 53 years are their five children, Randy (Linda) Pickford of Montgomery, Sandy (Mike) Parney of Hillsdale, Rex (Glenna) Pickford of Waldron, Eric (Mary Beth) Pickford and Marc (Debra) Pickford all of Pioneer, 12 grandchildren, three brothers, Ken (Kaye) Pickford of Adrian, Homer (Dee) Pickford, Jr. of Jackson and Jim (Delores) Brown of Clayton, five sisters, Irene (George) Hassenzahl, Sheila (Charles) Double of Adrian, Erilene Gendron of Hudson, Linda Childs of Manitou Beach and Vivian Cereghin of Babria, Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews. His parents, granddaughter, Hidee Pickford, and two brothers, Robert and Thomas Pickford, preceded him in death. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held on Friday, April 8, 2005 at 6:00 P.M. at the Betzer Community Church on the corner of Camden and Pittsford Roads with Pastor Paul Webster officiating. Hannan Colvin Post #180 American Legion of Hudson will perform full military honors. A gathering of family and friends will be held prior to the service at the church from 4-6P.M. Arrangements were entrusted to Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Hudson.
