   DON E. THOMPSON, age 76 years of Pittsford, passed away suddenly on Friday, April 8, 2005 at Hillsdale Community Health Center in Hillsdale. He was born on September 4, 1928 in Wright Township, Hillsdale County Michigan, the son of Estel Ray and Grace Elizabeth (Moore) Thompson. Don graduated from Hudson High School in 1946. He married Phyllis Elaine Milliman on June 10, 1950 in Angola, Indiana. She survives. Don loved to fish and he also enjoyed building airplanes and boats, assembling model airplanes, bowling and golf. He worked at Bohn Aluminum in Adrian and was service manager for Rollin Clark Pontiac and C R Motor Sales of Hudson before he opened his own shop, Don’s Repair Service in Pittsford. Surviving Don is his wife of 54 years, Phyllis, four children, Elaine (Keith) Arnold of Duff, TN, Donna (Hugh) Dobson, of Hudson, Kenneth E. (Jacqueline) Thompson of Adrian and Avis Ann (Randy) Wright of Inverness, FL, 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, one sister, Arlene Jardine of Adrian, one brother, Clair (Virginia) Thompson of Manitou Beach and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. His parents, sister, Velma Baxter, brother Earl Thompson, and brother-in-law, Ernie Jardine, preceded him in death. Funeral services for Don will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at the Brown-VanHemert Funeral Home in Hudson with his nephew, Rev. Robert Baxter officiating. Interment will follow at Churches Corners Cemetery in Wheatland Township, Hillsdale County Michigan. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 12, 2005 from 3-5 and 6-8 P.M. at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Hudson. Memorials are suggested to the family of Don E. Thompson.
