Edwin W. Ament, age 91, formerly of Waldron, Michigan passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at Swanton Health Care in Swanton, Ohio. He was born May 11, 1914, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania to Harold and Cora (Warfel) Ament. He married Lois Brehm on April 14, 1963, and she survives.

Edwin was former owner and operator of Ament's Hardware Store, retiring in 1981 after 21 years of service. He was also a U.S. WW II Army Veteran.

Surviving Edwin besides his wife, Lois of Swanton, are two adopted children, Dale and Pam Ament and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Irene Hornish and Ruth Frey; five brothers, Bill, Ferris, Roy, Alvin and Raymond Brehm.

Funeral services for Edwin W. Ament will be Saturday, May 14, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home in Fayette, Ohio with Rev. James Basinger officiating. Interment will follow in Lauber Hill Cemetery in rural Archbold, Ohio. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
