KENNETH D. LOCKWOOD, age 84 years, of Waldron, passed away Friday evening, September 23, 2005. He was born April 26, 1921 in Britton, Michigan, the son of Sam and Louella (Spohr) Lockwood. He was a graduate of Morenci High School and spent most of his life in the Morenci-Waldron Area. He married Jeannette E. Dowling on January 30, 1944 in Clayton and she preceded in death on March 2, 1995. Kenneth was a Purple Heart Veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a long time Medina Township Dairy Farmer and was a member of the Waldron Wesleyan Church.

 

Surviving are two sons, Monty Lockwood of St. Charles, Missouri and Timmy Lockwood of Waldron; nine grandchildren, Christy (Rick) McFarland, Jason (Michelle) Lockwood, Jeremy Lockwood, Amy Lockwood, Richie Bird, Tory (Matt) Angell, Jeff Park, Jamie Lockwood and Jodi Lockwood; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Harold Lockwood of Morenci, Richard (JoAnn) Lockwood of Montpelier, Ohio, Sam (Carolyn) Lockwood of Waldron and Russell (Carolyn) Lockwood of Waldron; four sisters, Barb Hassenzahl of Canandaigua, Wilma (Roscoe) Huff of Morenci, Beverly (Al) Weber of Hudson and Karen (Tom) Miller of Brooklyn; one sister-in-law, Mary Alice Lockwood of Adrian and by many nieces and nephews. His parents, his wife Jeannette, two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 27, 2005 in the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Hudson with Pastor Tom Brodbeck officiating. Interment will be made in the Lime Creek Cemetery, Medina Township, Lenawee County, Michigan, with military rites provided by the Hannan-Colvin Post #180 of the American Legion in Hudson. The visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Monday in the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Hudson.

 

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the Parkinson’s Disease Association.
