Eva Briskey

Eva Charlotte Briskey, 70, of Waldron, Mich., died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007,
at home.
She was born March 1, 1936, in Leipzig, Germany, to Erich and Charlotte (Sand)
Knobloch. She married James P. Briskey on Feb. 27, 1960, in Hudson, Mich., and
he preceded her in death Dec. 27, 2006.
Eva immigrated to the United States in 1957 and settled in the Waldron area.
She worked at Kroger Egg Company in Hudson, Ohio Art in Bryan, Ohio, and with
her husband Jim, they owned Briskey Elevator, Prattville Fertilizer & Grain
and Pittsford Grain.
Eva was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hudson, served on the
Morenci Area Hospital Board of Directors and assisted on the Wright Township
Election Board.
Surviving Eva are four daughters, Barbara (and Larry) Fether of Pittsford,
Mich., Mary (and Douglas) Shatter of Livonia, Mich., Teresa Boyer of Wauseon,
Ohio, and Donna (and Brian) Suboski of Alvordton, Ohio; one son, William
Briskey of Hudson; three sisters, Ursula, Karin and Jutta of Germany; two
brothers, Eberhard and Dietmar of Germany; 16 grandchildren; several nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Liese
Briskey, in infancy, one sister Giesela, two brothers, Lothar and Roland.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled Tuesday, Feb. 20, at 11 a.m. at Sacred
Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Richard Eberle as celebrant. Interment will
follow at Calvary Cemetery in Hudson.
Visitation is planned Monday from 4 until 8 p.m., with a Vigil Prayer
Service at 7 p.m. at Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson.
