Karen E. Young, age 65, of Lime Lake Road, Hudson, Michigan passed away Thursday, October 18, 2007, at Hillsdale Community Health Center. She was born January 2, 1942, in Hillsdale, Michigan to Arthur E. "Dutch" and Margaret P. (Ruffner) Herzog. She married David W. Young on July 3, 1971, in Hillsdale, Michigan and he survives.

Karen owned and operated Karen's Country Curl, Karen's Homebound Hairdos and was a hairdresser for the Dominican Sisters in Adrian. She graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1960 and Riggs Beauty School of Hillsdale in 1961.

Surviving Karen besides her husband, David is one son, Tom (Sabine) Young of Hudson; two grandchildren, David and Shawna Young and one step‑brother, Gerald Herzog of Lompoc, California. Her parents preceded her in death.

Funeral services for Karen Young will be Monday, October 22, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson with Rev. Martin Bacalia officiating. Interment will follow at Prattville Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-8 p.m.
